Commercial PS net football kit with Stjärna link-up

CHILDREN at Commercial Primary School have scored new football kits after 20 years by teaming-up with two West Fife businesses.

Before they broke off for the summer holidays, and ahead of Euro 2024, pupils in P5 and P6 organised and ran a competition, with the help of one the school's parents, to design new strips.

The winning efforts, created by Tibi Ionita and Malin Forrest, were brought to life by Stjärna Apparel, which was launched in May 2022 by lifelong Pars fan, Michael Mlotkiewicz, with support from Andrew Mathie Roofing Ltd.

Karen Hopkins, the school's depute headteacher, said: "This was a fantastic initiative to be involved in.

"The children who organised the competition, in conjunction with Stjärna, were full of enthusiasm.

"Designs were created by children from across the school and made a real buzz in the run up to the Euros.

"We were delighted with the help we got from local businesses and communities, and we couldn't be happier with the strips."

Michael, whose company has created designs that were sported by Scotland fans who travelled to Germany in the summer, and who have collaborations with Kelty Hearts and East Fife football clubs, added: "It was a pleasure to help Commercial Primary School in designing and producing their new football kits.

After hearing they had their previous kits for over 20 years it was an easy decision to help them. The two winning entries from Tibi and Malin were fantastic, the pupils did a great job with the project.

"Hopefully it brings the school luck when the school team plays."
